A financial co.'s marketing brochure:
Promover innovación e respetar las necesidades de nuestros clientes es imprescindible y ésta forma la base de nuestra actuación.

'This forms the basis of our activities'? I would like to modify the sentence to make it more idiomatic, like: 'this is at the heart of our ethos/ approach'

Any better ideas?

i am aware of all the threads on here pertaining to 'actuación' but I don't feel any answers work in this context (apart from potentially 'operations').
