In 1985 while Anna was at school she researched a family history project on her ancestors, the McCrickards, whom she traced to Co Wicklow from where they came to Castlewellan as stone cutters of Mourne granite. The **granite stone** for the Chapel in Castletownbeare, Co. Cork was quarried in the Mourne's and the McCrickards went to Co.Cork and built the Church there which is a replica of the R.C.
