Statistics is not my strong point, so I would appreciate some help in getting this phrase right.
This text involves a study using a hydrocellular dressing to treat heel pressure ulcers. Here is the context:
Resultados: Se realizaron un total de 144 determinaciones de presión. Los datos acumulados de la mediana de la reducción después de utilizar el apósito hidrocelular en todos los voluntarios, todas las inclinaciones y todas las superficies en las tres zonas estudiadas fueron: 19,5% en el sacro, 13,8% en el isquion y 20,15% en el talón.

Here is the original translation
A total of 144 pressure readings were taken. The overall average reduction after applying a external hydrocellular application on all volunteers, at all inclinations and on all surfaces for each of the three zones, were 19.5% in the sacrum, 13.8% in the ischium and 20.15% in the heel.

Is the word order ok? Is "la mediana de la reducción" what they meant? Or "la reducción de la mediana" (=median reduction). We would need to see the whole paragraph to know what is the "reduction" they are talking about, because it does sound weird to me that sentence...
. If somebody suggests an answer in discussion which is obviously correct then it seems churlish. Maybe O will do so and we can disagree wholeheartedly.:)

Those are simple statistics knowledge that would appear on any dictionary... (mediana = median; media = mean). I was just correcting Liz's translation. Cheers!
"Mediana" is not an equivalent for media/promedio (= average); it is a different statistical measure. Mediana = Median http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median
