Explanation:
The "batilón" seems to be a rigid hydraulic arm from which the grab or clamshell bucket is suspended, as an alternative to cables. See these illustrations with captions:

Hola,

Quizás convendría tener más contexto sobre el origen de tu texto, porque batilón podría ser un término de uso locaol. Yo personalmente no me lo había encontrado nunca y mira que llevo años traduciendo y revisando manuales de máquinas!

En todo caso, encontré esto en un foro sobre maquinaria, quizás te ayude:

"Si no recuerdo mal, se conoce por batilón a las cucharas bivalba o de almeja para excavadoras. Espero no estar equivocado."
