bed for accompanying person


Explanation:
The "acompañante" isn't quite the same as a visitor or guest. It is a person (usually a relative) who accompanies the hospitalized patient at all times. It's not uncommon for hospitals in Latin America to require that patients have an "acompañante".

Since this concept doesn't have a succint, fixed term in English, I usually use "accompanying person" or "person accompanying the patient" in other contexts.
