Buen día!!

Estoy traduciendo las FAQs de los procedimientos para realizarse exámenes de laboratorio, pero no encuentro ningún link en inglés que me ayude con esta frase y con el sentido de la palabra "dañar" que sería estropear, verdad.

La pregunta dice así: ¿Se dañan las muestras de orina o heces si no se llevan inmediatamente al laboratorio?
Mi intento es: Are urine or stool samples damaged/affected if they are not immediately taken to the laboratory?

Me pueden ayudar?

This makes more sense to me than referring to "damage" or "contamination" of human waste products. :)
