Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Health Care / Blood count report/result
Spanish term or phrase: Bq.
The report of the blood count (done in a hospital in Santiago, Chile), consisting largely of several pages of tabular data, has initial information that appears on each page above the tables. To the right of the patient and doctor names, there appear entries for dates and times and then, below those, a signature (possibly of a hospital or blood lab administrator?) appears on a separate line. Just below the signature is the abbreviation "Bq." followed the printed version of the name, e.g.:

"Bq. Xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxx"

What could "Bq." mean in this instance? I checked my abbreviation sources but couldn't turn up anything plausible.

agree  Otto Albers: In the neck of the woods where I've worked, these pros are called "bioanalistas", but I wouldn't know about Chile. It sounds logical that "bq" is the equivalent.
