la esperanza de vida de las poblaciones en las mejores
condiciones de salud posibles.2 Por lo tanto es importante
conocer y monitorear las tendencias de la mortalidad en todas
las edades. En este artículo se revisan los aspectos relativos
a una técnica que refleja más precisamente la mortalidad
en los grupos de edad más tempranos, dándole más peso
a las muertes que ocurren en las edades más jóvenes. Esta
técnica es la de los Años Potenciales de Vida Perdidos (APVP).
