Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Science - Medical: Instruments
Spanish term or phrase: Jeringa de apósito/apósito
This is taken from an extract in a novel set in the future. The first Character asks for hypodermic syringes and the second says:
“No se puede ir pinchando a la gente...llévate unas jeringas de apósito...a este clase de enfermos se les coloca un apósito fijo a la altura de la tercera vértebra lumbar...”
Are we talking about dressing syringes? In the second use of "apósito" it doesn't seem fitting to translate it as dressing...

English translation:pledget
Explanation:
It seems to be talking about means of delivering medication without puncturing the skin. A pledget is a type of small dressing used to deliver medication.

I'll take your suggestion of pledget for the dressing and I guess I'll go with my dressing syringe for the needle, as I can't find pledget syringe in use and have no other ideas... Thanks for your help anyway Kathryn!
