Explanation:
One speaks of an *outbreak* of a plague or of a contagious disease, but the term is not really appropriate in connection with mental illness. *Psychotic break* is often used to refer to the first manifestations of psychosis in a schizophrenic patient.

*Episode* is the term I've most often heard used in this connection.

Explanation:
One speaks of an *outbreak* of a plague or of a contagious disease, but the term is not really appropriate in connection with mental illness. *Psychotic break* is often used to refer to the first manifestations of psychosis in a schizophrenic patient.

*Episode* is the term I've most often heard used in this connection.

Although you are correct, "pleno" is translated as both "full" and "middle", the reconigiton of a patient that is not in a full psychotic outbreak is not as easy as one that in in the middle of such an outbreak. Thus, logic dictates "full."
