according to the zero crossing points of the flow signal Explanation: It seems that what we have here is a person breathing through a tube, connected to a device which produces an electrical signal proportional to the flow of air through the tube. Clearly, twice in each respiratory cycle, the flow changes direction, passing through zero as it does so. If the flow signal is plotted against time, it will be seen to "cut" the zero line. Hence: "The respiratory cycles are determined....according to the zero crossing points of the flow signal." Inspired guesswork |
