Spanish term or phrase: envolvente (muscle tone/EMG- medical)
The context, with the difficult term in CAPITALS

The choice of the author is to work with the ENVOLVENTES - this implies a reduction of the 'ground covered' so to speak. 'Surroundings' or similar is not satisfactory, but I see that 'envolver' can mean 'imply'. Can anybody help me with this?

Envolvente= envelope
Explanation:
Ailish: I would translate our text as:

"This signal presents a very wide range of frequencies and amplitudes, and this is why usually only its ENVELOPE is considered".
