Medical / Mexican health system, 1960s
Spanish term or phrase: Sanatorio de Salubridad
From a Mexican birth certificate: "...que nació en Sanatorio de Salubridad de este lugar..." I suspect that in the 1960s, this might have been a generic term for "Public Hospital" or "Public Health Center" rather than the proper name of a clinic. Any thoughts?

Yes.
Explanation:
De Salubridad means "De la Secretaría de Salubridad y Asistencia", el Ministerio de Salud en México.
Public Hospital está bien, no es nombre propio.
Suerte.

You say: \"A\" or \"The,\" in that case? - Thanks for the clarification! One additional question: would there be more than one SSA hospital in a medium-sized town? I\'m trying to figure out if this means \"born at THE Public Hospital of this place/town\" or \"...A Public Hospital in this...\"

Answer: if the text says \"en Sanatorio\" instead of \"en EL Sanatorio\", the answer is \"in A\" because yes, could have several hospital of the SSA in that town.
Luck.
