En el Dorland\'s Illustrated Medical Dictionary encontré la siguiente definición, donde se incluye la posibilidad de expresar esta idea con \'detubation\', que parece ser un término menos usado:

extubation (ex·tu·ba·tion) (eks²too-ba¢sh[schwa]n) the removal of a previously inserted tube; called also detubation. Cf. decannulation.
