extrarenal purification Explanation: Here's a ref: "Summary: Biocompatibility is an important factor to choose artificial membranes in extrarenal blood purification. Synthetic membranes are characterized by high permeability and good biocompatibility. With these membranes made in synthetic polymers, immunology activation of fraction of complement, and cellular activation are lower than cellulosic membranes. The production of cytokines like interleukine 1 and the TNFalpha(Tumor Necrosis Factor), implied in complications chronic hemodialysis, is reduced. Others factors of bio-incompatibility produce allergic and inflammatory manifestations, but biocompatibility of dialysis membranes depends on other factors like sterilization, dialysate and tubing used in extrarenal blood purification methods." extrarenal clearance Explanation: In the area of nephrology and dialysis, the term "depuración" normally means "clearance"; for example creatinine clearance is "depuración de creatinina", a commonly used measure of renal function. In general of course, "depuración" could be translated as "purification", since dialysis "purifies" the blood by removing noxious substances across an artificial membrane. (I am a nephrologist.) |

aclaramiento Explanation: extrarenal clearance of what? clearance requires some object that is being cleared, doesn't it? and isn't aclaramiento generally used in speaking of renal clearance of something, which is distinct from the general blood purification performed by a dialysis? |
