Se hacen varia biopsias en polo anterior de carina y BAS.

As far as I can make out BAS = bronchial aspirations, i.e. BAs in English. Right, the problem is locating this correctly in teh translated sentence.

Various biopsies were made in the anterior pole of the carina and BAs.

Literal but terrible! Hence I'm looking at this option:

Various BAs and biopsies in the anterior pole of the carina were made.

Am I right about BA and is this the right way of locating BAs in the sentence?

La frase no está muy bien redactada en español.
BAS significa aspiración bronco-alveolar selectiva. Aquí se refiere a que en la carina (la región en que se divide la tráquea en los dos bronqios principales) recogieron biospsias e hicieron un lavado o aspirado bronquial. Incluso en castellano, BAS no debería ir al final de la frase... ¡¡estos médicos escriben fatal!!
