Explanation:
NOTA: No se si se adecúe al contexto pero en la práctica clínica lo utilizamos especialmente en urología p.ej en litotripsia o litotricia (Del gr. lithos, piedra + lat. tritum , triturado.) es sustantivo femenino de pulverización o fragmentación de los cálculos que haya en las vías urinarias, riñón o vejiga para que puedan ser expulsados por la uretra. En inglés es lithotripsy. Según lo que parece estas traduciendo mas un procedimiento quirúrgico similar a una apendicectomía, por lo que no estoy seguro si te pueda ayudar.

agree  Dr. Andrew Frankland: All I can find is "-tripsia" as a suffix ("-tripsy" in English) meaning "to crush" (http://www.ucmh.sld.cu/ingles/web/surg_suffixes.htm)

Explanation:
La explicación de Diego es 100% correcta, pero -tripsy como dice Andy es un sufijo. Según el Dorland's Medical Dicitionary, TRIPSIS: a trituration; the process of trituration. Aunque como dice Diego, no sabía que esta fuese una de las técnicas para una apendicectomía. Aunque yo soy Médico Clínico no Cirujano.
