Spanish term or phrase: la mayor potencia para inhibir la captación por el transportador (NE)
Esto confirma la mayor potencia que exhibió el enanciómetro (R) para inhibir la captación por el transportador de NE in vitro.

greater potency of the enantiometer ...(contd)
Explanation:
Esto confirma la mayor potencia que exhibió el enanciómetro (R) para inhibir la captación por el transportador de NE in vitro.

This would confirm the greater potency of the enantiometer (R) in inhibiting in vitro NE transporter uptake.

Not sure about the R and its positioning, as the punctuation isn't clear.

The ratio of "R" and "S" enantiomers of ketoprofen was determined in skin, fascia, and muscle (Tab. 2). The percentage of "S" enantiomer in the skin was statistically greater than the percentage of "R" enantiometer following both iontophoretic and passive administration. In the fascia and muscle tissues, however, the "R" and "S" enantiomer percentages were equivalent. Thus, transcutaneous delivery of ketoprofen by iontophoresis or passive application was not stereoselective.

And:
To distinguish between enantiomers, chemists use the R and S classification system. Stereocenters, (sometimes called chiral centers, or stereogenic centers) are carbons that have four non-identical substituents on them, and are designated as either of R stereochemistry or S stereochemistry. If a molecule has one stereocenter of R configuration, then in the mirror image of that molecule, the stereocenter would be of S configuration, and vice-versa. When you are uncertain abouut the source term, check usage in Google. You will see that tehre are only 5 hits for the 'wrong' terms, and 28,200 hits for the 'right' term - in Spanish. Although a crude measure, it can be fairly conclusive, especially if you check for creible sources (in this case, journals, universities, etc).

Adam: Just proves my point! You should take answers here on face value, and doublecheck everything yourself. I may appear to 'know' but actually I don't, I just do a bit of 'guided' research. I wouldn't trust a KudoZ answer for a minute, I would ALWAYS try and confirm it elsewhere. And it irritates me terribly when someone suggests a term and provides no backup evidence...why the hell should I take their word for it?!?!?!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Lia, in the text I am working on, there is mention of enantiomero and enantiómetro. I am unsure of the distinction between the two (if any). Lots of refs. for enantiomers but not for enantiometers. Can you help?

Asker: I agree - this is something I always do! I was pretty sure it was "enantiomer" but noticed that you had mentioned it above, the author of my text had used "enantiometro" a few times, and hits with google (Ok only 197 but...) Anyway, thanks again!
