"Al grupo de voluntarios se realizó otoscopia, audiometría tonal y un estudio mediante admitanciometría multifrecuencia. A los pacientes del estudio se les realizó una otomicroscopia, audiometría tonal liminar y admitanciometría previa a la cirugía. Al mes y a los 3 meses de la cirugía, realizamos un nuevo estudio admitanciométrico para determinar la frecuencia de resonancia del oído intervenido, así como los componentes de la admitancia (susceptancia y conductancia). Los valores audiométricos prequirúrgicos y posquirúrgicos fueron evaluados según los criterios de la American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery16, excepto en lo que se refiere a los umbrales en 3 kHz, que se ha sustituido por el umbral a 4 kHz. La audiometría control se realizó 6 meses tras el tratamiento quirúrgico."
