No se refiere sólo al recuento (o "conteo" para Latinoamérica), sino a más parámetros relacionados con los glóbulos rojos (tb llamados hematíes o eritrocitos).

disagree  Gloria Rivera: Red blood cells by itself just means "glóbulos rojos". You would need an extra word, such as "count" or so. Here is my source: http://www.aegis.com/pubs/step/1993/step5104.html

  -> NO. Cuando se da un informe de laboratorio no indican "analysis", sino que dan los diferentes parámetros bajo el encabezado. Análisis aquí es redundante//Lee BIEN: aquí NO NO NO se refiere sólo al recuento, por tanto NO hay que poner "count". Lee bien.

This is the normal expression in the hospital where I work (UK). It includes not only the primary indices (Hb, RCC etc) but also the secondary.

  -> Yes, point taken. It's just that I have never seen a report on red cell parameters alone.

disagree  celiacp: NO es lo mismo un "Full Blood Count", donde se incluyen todos los tipos de células que un análisis de la serie roja, donde sólo se recogen los parámetros de los eritrocitos(o glóbulos rojos o hematíes): recuento y demás// te respondo arriba
