Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical (general) / pulmonary function tests
Spanish term or phrase: IT
*Note: I posted this acronym 2 years ago, didn't get a solid answer. See >
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/medical_general...

Now I'm seeing it again in records from BARCELONA.

I'm thinking it stands for "______ total" but, looking at Wikipedia list of the PFTs,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulmonary_function_tests
nothing fits--except possibly Inspiratory Capacity (IC). So, maybe IT = "inspiración total"?
BUT... that wouldn't be expressed as a %, so I'm stumped.

Hoping for a simple answer this time. Thanks!

índice de Tiffeneau/ Tiffeneau index
Explanation:

agree  Charles Davis: Chapeau! Tiffeneau Index = FEV1 (VEMS) / FVC (CVF) x 100; 2940/3800 x 100 = 77.37, q.e.d.
