Si la traducción es para el mercado norteamericano yo pondría directamente el nombre de la institución que imparte dicho entrenamiento en ese país, si no es así, lo sustituiría directamente por el nombre de la academia militar que imparte este curso en el país de destino de la traducción.
No habrá ninguna confusión en los estudios que se realizan en los distintos países pues todas las Academias Militares "occidentales" que imparten ese tipo de curso se basan en la misma doctrina militar y todos los alumnos que salen de ellas salen como "diplomados en Estado Mayor / Comando y Estado Mayor (dependiendo del país), es decir, todas son básicamente iguales pero con distinta denominación.
Además los diferentes ejércitos aliados admiten alumnos de naciones aliadas, los cuales, cuando terminan los estudios obtienen la misma titulación y nivel académico militar que sus compañeros de promoción que realizaron el curso en su patria.
