agree Peter Haden: Officers' Mess is the term used in the U.K.. The armed forces in the U.K. are not as "dry" as in the U.S.A.!

  -> I think the term is used in the US also for the eating hall, but the Officers' Club concentrates on the drinking part. Of course, I was never in the military so my expertise could be suspect.
