Una vez que camiones o vagones ingresan al depósito, se verifica el cumplimiento de la normativa de la empresa en cuanto a seguridad y estado operativo de estas unidades de transporte. Además de esto los camiones y vagones son identificados, pesados y registrados en las balanzas respectivas. Se tienen tres balanzas para camiones y dos para trenes ubicadas en las zonas de ingreso.

Posteriormente se procede a la descarga y almacenamiento del concentrado. En el caso de los camiones, las unidades de transporte se descargan con rastras sobre la losa de concreto. La operación finaliza con el barrido de los concentrados remanentes sobre la plataforma y la colocación de *cobertura* sobre las rumas. En el caso de los hoppers, la descarga se realiza por la parte inferior de éstos con ayuda de una retroexcavadora sobre un terraplén. El concentrado se transporta hacia la losa de almacenamiento correspondiente mediante una faja transportadora radial y es dispuesto en la ruma correspondiente de acuerdo a su procedencia.

De forma paralela se procede a formar las rumas con ayuda de cargadores frontales en el área de almacenamiento correspondiente. El concentrado es dispuesto sobre las losas dependiendo de las necesidades de embarque.
