Spanish term or phrase: Gran Capitán
Context:

Is Gran Capitán referring to Furtwängler or Wagner? I've no idea how to translate it. "Great Captain" just doesn't sound good and I can't find any references using this name for him. I don't know whether the term is made up or badly translated (my text is a translation from Japanese).

English translation:Master Conductor
Explanation:
I would say. There are lots of orchestra conductors but only a few of them were or are outstanding master conductors, such as Furtwaengler. And the Gran Capitan certainly refers to Furtwaengler as a conductor rather than Wagner as a composer.
