I finally chose this one, but wish I could have awarded 4 points to each one of you as all of the ideas suggested were great - and creative!
Thank you all! 4 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
in answer to your question: no thanks, definitely not!
What you're suggesting is against the KudoZ rules, and in any case, is probably the last thing I would want right now! Quite apart from issues of legality, I think I'd prefer 100 Disagrees to 1 Agree that was not 100% genuine. Although, I suspect that I might reconsider the wisdom of an answer long before hitting the 100-disagree mark!
re yr comments with your Agree to Cecilia's suggestion: "fit" is just as close to "fat" as "fitter" is to "fatter"...
I wouldn't have mentioned this rather obvious point, but it seems to be the basis of your argument!
have to admit that I hadn't realised I'd said anything particularly controversial! Sorry if I inadvertantly ruffled a few feathers!
In fact this perhaps raises several points that would make good forum fodder: when is an answer sufficiently original/different to existing ones to count as an answer in its own right? This is clearly debatable! Generally, my experience has been that in such cases, people usually post an Agree, along with the amended suggestion, and possibly an explanation. Having said that, I have certainly made this same mistake on more than one occasion - and for exactly the same reason (that "dribble" as Deborah so nicely puts it!). However, I always thought that it was simply a matter of some sort of unwritten KudoZ rule that this was not done intentionally, and I for one have always acted accordingly on discovering my "mistake". Anyway, clearly I was labouring under some misapprehension, and no such code exists.
And, yes, I agree that "dribbles" of suggestions can be annoying, but we are ALL guilty of this on occasion, and this sort of brainstorming can be very productive for this type of marketing question. I for one have always found this to be the case..
unduly harsh. Carol, of course there is no reason not to add additional answers as Notes, and that is one of the purposes the Notes are for. But as for rushing to post an answer and then following it up with a "dribble" of secondary answers -- this is not helpful, particularly if you expect colleagues who answer later to plough their way laboriously through your notes just to make 100% sure the answer they thought of is not your "property".
Look Carol, I am not interested in entering an argument. Again, I did not read your options believing they were examples of “power eating”. As a matter of fact, I had thought along those lines too: “empower yourself/take control” etc. but I preferred the one I published.
I am not in the business of picking other people’s brains. Besides, none of the vast array of afterthoughts you published matches exactly my suggestion: I ran a “Find on this page” search and the combination I propose is not anywhere else.
I am replying here because there is not enough room in the relevant box.
Have a nice rest of the day.
