Yvonne, there really isn't futher context that would help. This is from a study that asks people's thoughts about smoking, tobacco companies, and cigarette advertising. It's a translation of tape transcripts, so there is no actual, thorough description of the magazine ad that the interviewees are observing here. After the answers given by Persons "A" and "B" above, the interviewer moves on to the next question.

Is it as simple as "stop"?

The question asked of the interviewees is "qu� es lo que esto est� tratando de decir?" Would a cigarette ad be telling people to "stop" smoking cigarettes?
