It may be a typo and mean: "empleomania = eagerness to hold public Explanation: office" according to Gran Dicc. Larousse. Hope it helps. Saludos. Maria ;o) |

a responsibility towards employment/in terms of employment policies? Explanation: Never saw it before. I would guess that it's due to the mania for 'English' jargon in the marketing profession.. It would be useful to know if the respondents are members of the public, or the public they belong to. It seems like a worker demanding - "better training, pay, ....and benefits" 'emplomania' could be a less selfish demand for 'real' jobs (i.e. permanent employment) as opposed to 'contratos basura' (i.e. casual labour) - a wild guess... trying to squeeze it into the context. Thus, in sentence, it could be "a more serious/responsible attitude to employment" or something similar. 'Beneficios' will depend on context, but it seems to be 'benefits' as in 'fringe benefits', rather than profits. |

employment bloat OR *hiring bloat* Explanation: Don't think you can blame this one on English! Can't find anything in my Web searches for anything but Spanish. Here is a context for you: "gobiernos seudocapitalistas donde la enorme emplomanía estatal creadora de ineficiencia, despilfarro, corrupción y "botelleros" evapora las riquezas nacionales y los aportes del sector privado. " In English, we'd talk about something like *employment bloat* or *hiring bloat* Reference: http://www.mundolatino.org/eltemplo/memoria/20000103.htm |

STAFF Explanation: in the survey, the respondent seems to be requesting: BETTER TRAINING. A LARGER STAFF (or, MORE EMPLOYEES). BETTER PAY AND BENEFITS. yes, the original is poorly written, but it\'s the translation you\'re after. suerte! |
