Executor/trix - Compare with Administrator/trix Explanation: Administrator:A person appointed by the court to administer the assets and liabilities of a decedent (i.e. the deceased). Such person may be a male or a female (administratix). If the person performing these probate services is named by the decedent's will, he is designated as the executor, or she the executrix of the estate. Executor/trix: a person appointed by a testator to carry out the directions and requests in his will, and to dispose of the property according to his testamentary provisions after his decease. "Personal representative" includes "executor". Compare Administrator. I hope this helps to clarify. Good luck! Black's law Dictionary |
