| Spanish to English translations [PRO] | | Spanish term or phrase: humedezco mis manos para refrescarme | | wet my hands to cool down? |
| | | i wet my hands to cool off | Explanation: all the answers have a part that is good.
"cool myself off" sounds awkward to me here
freshen up sounds more like with makeup, etc. fixing hair, etc.. gettng rid of tired look.( to me )
and "cool down" to me is after exercise aerobic heart acceleration.. when one is over heated.. not just terribly hot
more context would definitely help clear up these points.

6 hrs confidence: I wet my hands to cool myself off
Explanation: I personally prefer cool off than cool down. I imagine it is a literary story? If so, the context might give you some idea as to which term is better, or how you can combine it with the rest of the sentence.
