Obviously you're translating a pro-life text, so in my opinion, the strongest, clearest way of expressing "abortar es otra forma de matar" in English would be "Abortion is another form of murder." Be careful not to confuse the meanings of murder and assassination. Anyone can be murdered, however "assassination" implies the murder or attempted murder of a political figure. It would not be used to refer to the killing of an unborn fetus. See the definition for assassination below.

You could say "Abortion is another form of killing," but that seems pretty redundant as abortion itself means to kill a fetus (ending a pregnancy by surgically removing the fetus from the womb).

Explanation:
"Embryo: A stage of pre-natal mammalian development which (in humans) extends from 2 to 8 weeks after fertilization. It is termed a "bilaminar" or two layer embryo during its second week and becomes a trilaminar (3 layer) embryo during its third week. At 9 weeks it is called a fetus."


So, if the abortion is performed during the first 9 weeks of pregnancy, it is still an embryo. Any abortion after that would mean the removal of the "fetus" from the womb.

Explanation:
Assasination requires secrecy, stealth and cover with little or no face to face encounter between victim and assasin. Sometimes motive (political) is also present. But it is the hidden attacker and the surprise attack that conjure assasination as a description.

Murder does not have there elements. It is most often the case that the victim of a murder is aware of the danger he/she faces before the attack is perpetrated. Many times avoiding the final outcome. Also, an assasination is always planned whereas a murder, not necessarily so.

The word "assasin" is also said to be of Turkish origin where hired killers working for criminal gangs and high on hashish would go off into the dark of night to do the dastardly deeds.
"A shashih" being one of it's ealier forms according to this version.

Kennedy was assasinated. Lennnon was murdered.
