IMO, that the word "surveyor" (using prisms) would suffice. I don't know that a specific surveying term exists where this technique is utilized.

I am not sure that "Assistant" would work either. Why Asst.? Is there a reason? IMO, whether a "surveyor" is sufficient. The prisms refer to the instrumentation utilized. HTH!
