Esto es del tiempo de los teodolitos, antes del uso de Estaciones Totales, al que le ayudaba al Topografo, se le llamaba cadenero, pues utilizaba una cadena y en la actualidad se le llama asi al que lleva el prisma (cadenero) puedes usarlo ya que esta es la definición del puesto http://www.sccollege.edu/Departments/CareerEd/Apprenticeship... o tambien survey chainman

Perdón, cadena le llamaban a la cinta metrica, en realidad es muchisimo más antiguo. El lenguaje se mantuvo en la profesión (me consta) pero viene de http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunter's_chain

Midiendo el área: El auxiliar en topografía, xxx, ayuda a medir un área usando ....coloca un portaprisma para calcular la distancia.

IMO, that the word "surveyor" (using prisms) would suffice. I don't know that a specific surveying term exists where this technique is utilized.

I am not sure that "Assistant" would work either. Why Asst.? Is there a reason? IMO, whether a "surveyor" is sufficient. The prisms refer to the instrumentation utilized. HTH!

Asker: Unfortunately, there is no more information available. I think you are right. Probably "assistant surveyor" would be the equivalent.

Asker: "Assistant" because there is a category for "surveyor", to which this job seems to be subordinate.
