Contexto (es una tabla): Combustibles y comburentes - Capacidad de consumo estimada - Uso

Entiendo lo que es un comburente - el oxígeno es un comburente; he encontrado la definición en castellano. ¡Pero no encuentro traducción al inglés! ¿"Oxidizer/oxidizing" (es lo más cerca que he estado de encontrar una traducción)? ¿Basta con eso?

disagree  Dr Neil Ashby: a "comburente" is one of many oxidizing agents. "comburentes" always provide a source of O2 but oxidizing agents don't necessarily. The translation "oxidizing agent" is a very very large expansion/generalisation.
