| Spanish term or phrase: imagen cosificado | This is the context:
"la imago-objectum (la fotografía, el cine y sus derivaciones informáticas) es la revocación del fantasma y de su invocación por el cadáver de la imagen cosificada."
The question really is whether the term "cosified image" would work in English. After a quick search I have found uses of it but still wonder if the term "reified" might be more appropriate in English.
I definitely wouldn't use "objectified" (although in every day terms it means something along those lines) as the term is used in a very specific and intentional way by the author (Marxist connotations, etc.).
So if you have come across "cosified" and think it fits please let me know.
Many thanks. |
