Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Philosophy
Spanish term or phrase:
The last question from my philosophy paper from hell. TIA and thanks for all the help to get through this!

Oneself? Itself? WHat is this si refering to?

"El caso es que la responsabilidad por todos los otros individuales sólo parece posible en una negación de sí cuyo ancestro es el Cristo que muere y redime, parece, así al linaje humano."

My rough draft:
Responsibility for all other individuals seems only possible in a negation of oneself, whose ancestor is the Christ that dies and redeems, and seems to be thus to the human lineage

agree  Fiona Kirton: or self-negation, but I prefer 'negation of the self'

agree  IvanAmortegui: The idea is better expressed by using a term such as 'the self'. 'Oneself' does not have the generallity expected.
