Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Philosophy / Art/Philosophy: Ricardo Calero, Michel Serres
Spanish term or phrase: ya una tesis, ya un elemento efectivamente definible de
Here the text quotes Michel Serres, writing in Hermes I: la communication.

“Imaginemos -escribe Serres-, dibujado en el espacio de representación, un diagrama en red. En un instante (al representar un estado cualquiera de una situación móvil), está conformado por una pluralidad de ramificaciones (caminos). Cada punto representa, ***ya una tesis, ya un elemento efectivamente definible de un conjunto empírico determinado***”.

I have not managed to find any translations of this essay online, and am not quite sure how to word the whole phrase above. I am not overly familiar with Serres' work, which is dense to say the least, and am worried about wording this sentence completely wrong.

In particular, "definible de"= "definable AS"??

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance. UK Eng preferred.
