Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Philosophy | | Spanish term or phrase: ingeniería inicial | Lo que hay es dos tiempos separados por un tiempo muerto o tiempo mediocre, una laguna inválida. Así que a la Historia se le practica una amputación. (Esta amputación sólo fue posible, no lo olvidemos, porque la ficción de un cuerpo total había sido previamente construida. La amputación, en verdad, es una de las posibilidades contempladas en la ingeniería inicial).
A google search reveals that "ingeniería inicial" appears to mean something like "engineering set up" or "first design". Any suggestions for how to translate it here in this more metaphorical (perhaps) context?
