Más allá de la semioclasia con la que generalmente se la identifica, la iconoclasia, en el sentido de crítica de la idolatría, supone una preocupación (terca, irrenunciable) por la verdad, algo en lo que, sin dudas, se reconoce el arte de XXX, y una reflexión sobre el Tiempo/ los Tiempos (si hay verdad en el arte, es una verdad del Tiempo).
I think the term is misspelled and should be "semioclastia," but I still don't know what it means or can't find a satisfying translation online.
Thanks!

By the form, the writer might be trying to express "notion of" or "theory of" semioclasm. Without more text, I'm not sure.
It means "destruction of signs", by the way, just as iconoclasm means "destruction of images". By extension, it can mean advocacy of the destruction of signs, or opposition to the veneration of signs.
It's not in the dictionary, but logically it ought to be "semioclasia" in Spanish, without a t, by analogy with "iconoclasia". You do see it in Spanish as "semioclastia", but this is a false calque from the French. Barthes calls it "sémioclastie", by analogy with "iconoclastie", so people working from French sources have turned it into "semioclastia" in Spanish; but since FR "iconoclastie" is SP "iconoclasia", FR "sémioclastie" should be SP "semioclasia". Similarly, although "semioclasty" is found in English, the correct coinage should be "semioclasm", by analogy with "iconoclasm". Hope that clears it up!
