I am sorry that this isn't exactly from Spanish...it is actually from Japanese into English. This research institute is mentioned as one of collaborators with a Japanese university on energy. According to their website, they must be working on helical plasma confinement.
The phrase in Japanese is スペイン国立CIEMAT研究所 which literally means

Sorry, yes, I had meant to include a comment about Spanish/National/Laboratory. They are explanatory, rather than part of the name (and as such I suppose National shouldn't have a capital, but it looks odd if you don't capitalize...). However, given that the word Centre is included in Ciemat, I would try to lose Laboratory. Personally I would go with "the Spanish National Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology, CIEMAT"
Thank you, Tana and Noni. I was wondering why the Japanese name has "Spanish National Laboratory." There may not be much reason besides CIEMAT alone does not make much sense unless you know CIEMAT. Can you think of any reason?
If you Google Taña's suggestion without putting it between inverted commas, the most commonly used combination of these words appears, and this includes the version used by Ciemat itself and many UK academic institutions: Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology looks as if it our answer then!
