agree  Bob Haskell: hiero is a Greek prefix meaning "holy", and apparently there was a "Tarantinus" or "Tarantinous", which I found on one site: http://www.hostel-alexandros.gr/parousia-en.htm. Sometimes they take an old Greek person and add a prefix, as in "Pseudo-Dionysus"
