Spanish to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature | | Spanish term or phrase: A un pecho villano no hay cosa que no le parezca que hará, y al fin no hace nada | Es una frase del Rey Joao II de Portugal (siglo XV) a Pero de Alenquer, quien dijo que podría llegar a Cabo Verde con cualquier tipo de embarcación. Obviamente quiso decirle que por dárselas de osado no lograría nada.
¿Existe alguna frase hecha en inglés, que más o menos equivalga en sentido? La traducción literal sería "The vilain heart feels capable of everything, and in the end achieves nothing", pero no estoy segura.

Explanation: A 'villano' here is not a villain, or vile person. He is a villein, member of a class of partially free persons under the feudal system who were serfs with respect to their lord but had the rights and privileges of freemen with respect to others.
