Spanish term or phrase: uno puede sentir la tentación de proclamar su solidaridad a los cua­tro vientos
Heres the second part of this tricky sentence... it's from a book of fiction based on fact.

Miguel consideraba que el hecho de aparecer en alguno de los medios donde le proponían un espacio podría ser de gran ayuda para contactar con la beneficiaria desconocida, pero la excesiva insistencia de alguno de ellos y el temor a no po­der controlar el impacto de la aparición familiar más allá del propio interés que motivó el artículo lo hacía reacio a avanzar por ese camino. Cierto es que, cuando los medios de comunicación aplau­den una idea y regalan los oídos, >> uno puede sentir la tentación de proclamar su solidaridad a los cua­tro vientos. >>

Explanation:
I'd go for something relatively colloquial like "to all and sundry" or "from the rooftops" for "a los cuatro vientos". It means telling everyone you meet that the media support you.

I definitely feel that "support" works better than "solidarity" here; the use of "solidarity" in English is much more limited than that of "solidaridad" in Spanish.

The main thing here is that in "su solaridad", "su" refers to the media (medios de comunicación). In other words, it's saying that if the media support you, you may be tempted to tell everyone about it: to announce their support on all sides.

What's wrong with using proclaim? And I go with Asker's original idea about one's. Where are those grammar experts?!
