Spanish term or phrase: nuevo sentimiento y la nueva inteligencia del mundo
Existe un movimiento hacia la abolición que avanza de manera firme. Es el nuevo sentimiento y la nueva inteligencia del mundo. Esperamos que también en algunos de sus países se produzca pronto ese cambio. En la actualidad hay 58 países que mantienen la condena capital, pero en el último año se han emitido condenas a muerte solo en la mitad de esos países y se han ejecutado solo en una tercera parte de ellos.

I see "nueva intelligencia" as a dawn of reason/thinking (I don't think "intelligence" works here!)

Explanation:
Normally 'sentimiento' is 'feeling' or 'emotion', but in this case I think sentiment work perfectly, since it combines feeling with opinion.

agree  Charles Davis: Better "throughout", or perhaps simply "in", I'd say. I agree with you wholeheartedly on "inteligencia"; I think it's closer to "understanding" than "intelligence" here.
