Porque niega de raíz el motivo por el que existen los sistemas judiciales y las leyes, que nacen siempre para reducir la violencia, defender a la sociedad y defender la vida. Un sistema judicial que aplica la pena de muerte, aunque lo haga basándose en la opinión pública de los ciudadanos, siempre se niega a sí mismo desde la raíz.

Here the thing is that you need a verb for "negar" that will work both at the beginning and at the end of the passage quoted. "Deny" would do for the first, but not for the second. I think "negate" is best, but "undermine" would work as well.

I see that Deborah has suggested "negate" before me. However, I'll leave my answer as an alternative, because I do not agree with "from the root upwards.
