Psychology / Psychology
Spanish term or phrase: dominancia
Su dominancia fue consistente con pobre agarre.

A child is being psychologically evaluated for intelligence, psycho-motor skills, perceptual ability, social-interpersonal relationships .. etc..

I don't think this could be 'dominance' could it? Is there a better or more correct/accurate translation of this term?
xxxdimples
dominance
Explanation:
I suspect this refers to right or left hand dominance, i.e., it is consistent but the child does not have a strong grip.
"Dominancia" is then a direct borrowing from English for a technical term.

agree  xxxGabilu: I think the original should read "dominio" (control), but when it comes to psychology, terms are used quite freely. I should stick to "dominance" to be on the safe side.

neutral  luskie: for Gabilu: psychological terminaology is not at all "used freely"! These are at their best "prehistoric" views...

-> Contest will tell. There's not enough info, but I take my clue from "agarre," grip, which I take refer to hand. This is motor skills part of evaluation. AGain, more "olfato" than certainty.

Explanation:
I offer something which might bring you away from a possible mislead, as dominance is a matter of pecking order
- and I do not see this in this context
