Spanish term or phrase: casa de posesión
This is a description of an estate in Mallorca. I've found quite a few references to casas de posesión in Spanish but I'm still not exactly sure what they are. This is a document that specifies the real value of properties.

VIVIENDA UNIFAMILIAR AISLADA EN ZONAS RURALES DE MAS DE 500 m2 Y CONTRUIDA ANTES DE 1910 (ANTIGUA CASA DE POSESION )

I also found in a website of a Swiss artist who lives now in Mallorca, a description of a Casa de Posesión.

Jahrhunderts stammt.

He says that "in Mallorca there are Fincas (small rural/farm houses) and 'Herrenhäuser' (manor houses), which here are called casa de posesión, built mainly by the end of 18th century, beginning of the 19th.
