Spanish term or phrase: bañera

This is probably referring to the general rear area of the yacht. Cockpit is not really an option here, because "cockpit" appears immediately afterwards. Sunbridge?

I'd go for that or some other name for wheel house/navigation station/steering position.
Certainly not sun bridge, that is what covers, not what is covered.
cockpit is not really applicable to a deck of that size
