aparece en el informe de una inspección de un buque petrolero y dice el texto:

Examen de los sistemas de carga, lavado con crudos, combustibles y tubos de aireación, sin excluir las ¨torres y colectores de respiro¨.

They are the conduits which collect fresh air from outside the vessel's hull - they can be all shapes and sizes depending on the vessel. As you appear to be dealing with a VLCC, these would be large towers or pipe-like structures. cf Inglés Técnico Naval Servicio de Publicaciones Univ. de Cádiz
