Asker: Hi Oscar, thanks for the comment. I'm not commenting on where the term MAY be used. In this particular case, I know that the speaker is Mexican. The way I wrote the phrase is exactly what the speaker said, although it may seem wrong. Thank you

It's over by chance (guide suggestion)


Explanation:
I don't know the context of the phrase iin Argentina "de pedo" (slang) means "by chance, fortunately" -I don't know in the rest of Latin America. This phrase carries an informal/ non-colloquial meaning and to use "by chance" would get the same level of informality and serendipitous honesty when the speaker uttered those words.

IMHO, that's the meaning, we don't know if it's a problem, a hassle or what that's over. To say It's over by chance or Fortunately, it's over would get the idea across yet not the same implication of the slang phrase.

So my answer is like guidance. I hope it helps you.

Asker: I know that it means different things in different countries. That's why I specified that the speaker is Mexican. Unfortunately, I can't give anything more. It's a recording with a lot of unintelligible things, and that's part of the problem for me. There's no good context.
