Thanks very much, Marina, and thanks to everyone else who commented, especially Ruth for your suggestion of the word order I decided to use. Alvaro - thanks for your note about the typo in my source text - of course you are right, and I have now learned that the adjective refers to the location of the commmunities - at the foot of the Cordillera Domeyko range of the Andes.
